About the Foundation

The Redding Parks & Trails Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to improving the community’s parks, trails, and recreational facilities and to expanding recreation opportunities in Redding. The Foundation is funded by grants, fundraising, and private contributions.

Our mission is to enhance the Redding community by supporting a thriving and vibrant system of parks, trails, and open spaces.

Our parks, trails, and open spaces preserve the soul of Redding and promote the pleasures we all share for recreation, reflection, and restoration.

Turning Interest Into Action

We support projects and public places managed by the City of Redding, as well as other community-initiated trails and recreational projects. We focus on the interest and enthusiasm of the community to support unfunded parks, trails and open spaces projects. Some of our fundraising campaigns include:

  • Community Grant Programs that provide funding for capital costs for parks, trails, and recreational facilities

  • Fiscal sponsorships for community-initiated park and trail projects

  • Advocating for park and trail-related issues

  • Grant writing to support community activities and trail restoration

The Foundation is currently seeking applications for the Board of Directors.
