Support Redding’s Parks, Trails, and Open Spaces
We are committed to improving the Redding community’s parks, trails, and recreational facilities.
Our mission is to enhance the Redding community by supporting a thriving, vibrant system of parks, trails, and open spaces, all of which preserve the soul of Redding.
What We Do
We support projects and public places managed by the City of Redding Community Services Department, as well as trails and recreation-related projects that are initiated by the community. We focus on the community’s interest and enthusiasm to support unfunded parks, trails, and open spaces projects, and aim to strategically invest in revenue-generating projects.
Our 4 Major Work Areas
-
Race for Redding
Race for Redding is a community-powered fundraising campaign through Ironman’s Your Journey, Your Cause platform. Athletes racing in the North State Ironman create personal fundraising pages, share their training journey and “why,” and raise funds that go directly back into local parks and trails.

-
Development Projects
We believe that in order to build healthy communities, we need parks, trails, and open spaces that are accessible to everyone. The Foundation provides ongoing support for park creation and renovation projects in conjunction with the City of Redding and other collaborators.

-
Community Outreach
We are committed to being active collaborators, supporters, and participants in community events that are aligned with our mission. Our community outreach efforts are designed to support organizations and activities that enhance community engagement with parks, trails, and open spaces.

-
Advocacy
We are a strong advocate for the preservation, restoration, and development of Redding’s parks, trails, and open spaces. As an organization, we look for opportunities to advocate for preserving natural spaces so that all members of the community have a chance to reap the physical and mental health benefits of the outdoors.

Turning Interest Into Action
Together, we work to enhance the Redding community by supporting a thriving system of parks, trails, and open spaces.
